Poem and drawing made in collaboration with Aline Lemos (Desalineada)

This work was a collaboration between myself and another Brazilian artist, Aline Lemos. This piece was made in watercolors with techniques of collage, for a special issue of the art&science journal ClimaCom, "Mycelial Fabulations".

We were inspired by Ursula K. Le Guin's "Carrie Bag Theory of Fiction" and by the poem "The Mushroom Hunters" by Neil Gaiman. The main idea of our work is to emphasize local knowledge, practice and care made by women, often marginalized or erased from science and other mainstream forms of knowledge.

​

This was the first work I signed as Terrano, a pseudonym that evokes multi-species worlding and gender-bending authorship.
